Reserve Bank of Fiji
Currency - Dollar (FJD)
The Reserve Bank of Fiji was formed in 1983 and between 1986 and 1987, the bank released 3 notes of $1, $2 and $20 bearing the governor's signature of Savenaca Siwatibau (tenure 1983-1988). Between 1989 and 1991, the bank released a full set of notes from $1 to $20 all signed by the governor Ratu Jone Yavala Kubuabola (tenure 1988-2000). The designs for all these notes are basically the same as those first issued in 1980, albeit different in issuing authority and signatures. In 1992 three notes of $5, $10 and $20 were released but with additional security of segmented foil over the security strip added to the note. Here I have posted one of the 1992 specimen notes of $10 printed. The difference between this and those previously issued, apart from the security strip is the format of prefix used on this series. The 1992 prints are all printed with a single letter prefix i.e. A 000000 instead of D/18 00000 (fraction prefix).
Signature - Ratu Jone Yavala Kubuabola (tenure 1988-2000)
